This was a wedding cake it did that went with this Grooms cake. There were sooooo many Royal Icing Roses on it. It was sooo heavy that we could not put the top two layers on it. With out it falling apart. It worked out well though because the reception was at this cool Mansion in Downtown Toledo called Mansion View Inn. Any way, the cakes were in two different rooms that way there was less conjestion. While the Bride and Groom cut the cake in one room I was cutting the cake in the other to serve to the quests.
I had this great friend that would cut my hair and I would make her kids birthday cakes. Sadly she moved out of state. So this is a pikacho cake from a Wilton Pan.
This one was fun. Two round cakes, I took a cup and scooped out just about half way to make the circles. Frosted in white then sprayed red and yellow. Then wrote in Blue. The Primary colors are one, two, three, red, yellow, and blue....
One of my most favorite cakes. This was a grooms cake. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with chocolate decorations and chocolate dripping off strawberries. It is amazing. I love chocolate and strawberries.
This was for a friends graduation. There is two cakes. I tried to make a diploma. It was quite large. There is also white chocolate pieces on it as well. And this is what happens when you have a curious little guy who likes to get into things.
That is not blood. It is the read icing dye. He is still getting into things!
This was for a baby shower. I can't believe how much cake I made. I bet most of this got tossed. We were expecting more people to show. Oh well, I think this is one of my favorites.
This was a wedding cake I did. The flowers are real. when I got to the reception hall, the florist was there and we spread all the loose petals around the cakes. She found three of the best roses to place on top.
Remember when strawberry shortcake was not a preteen? This is for my friends 30th birthday. She told me she never had a character cake for her birthday because she always shared her birthday parties with her older sister. So, I made this one for her.
The kids and I made this for my dad before he went home. The baseball is white chocolate done with a sports candy mold. The grass is colored coconut. The plates are fondant. And the dirt is graham cracker crumbs. Not the best looking cake and still in the pan, but we only had a few minutes to get this together.
This is something W and I put together for Play group one morning. It was one of the Mom's birthdays and she has a fishy bathroom so we made a fishy cake. I love the little crabs.
Ok, this is one of my favorites for many reasons. One, it was done for a wonderful friend of mine who could not even be there for it. She lives far away now and we had the shower in her honor. Two, look how darn cute it is! I love the blanket. Anyhow, it was fun to make. Wilton Teddy Bear cake pan. Blanket in fondant.
This is a cake I did for a friends baby shower. It is a two cake mix book pan by Wilton. The boxes and letters are done in fondant. The only thing I don't really like about this cake was the baby was out of proportion. Way to small, but I love the little blanket hiding his plastic nakedness!
This was for W's 5th Birthday. We have family dinners on Sundays and this was what I made for that. A Wilton Sponge Bob Cake pan. Then I took prepared cookie dough and made a star freehand. The kids loved it.
This was for a friends wedding shower cake. Again I used Royal Icing on a cross stitch pattern to make the outline then filled it in with Color Flow. I like this one better than the first one.
This is a cake I made a long time ago. It is the San Diego Temple. I used Royal Icing on a cross stitch pattern to make the outline then filled it in with Color Flow. I made this at a Ladies Night for a women who was about to leave Ohio and Married a guy in San Diego! I miss her. She was so nice. She came with me to my wedding in Chicago and massaged my feet the night before. Just so I could relax before my wedding.
This was a terrible cake! I should not even be posting it. I was pregnant and still getting sick. It was like 95 out with 80% humidity. We lived in a small apartment with one small window air conditioner. I was up all night trying to frost the cake and the frosting just kept sliding off the cake. Then the cake just starting coming apart.
It was for a 15 Wedding anniversary. I believe they renewed their vows as well.
This is one of my first cakes. I flew to Vegas without my mom knowing and got a studio hotel room with a oven. For two days I made Black Royal Icing Roses. My aunt flew in and stayed with me and we surprised my mom with a big party. It was fun, but I don't think I would go cross country to make a cake again.
